Why Sports Practitioners, Players, Coaches, Game Officials & Fans in Nigeria Must Come Together to Build the Sports Ecosystem Instead of Waiting for Sports Administrators and Politicians.

For decades, Nigerian sports has lived on promises.
Every election cycle, every appointment of a new minister, every inauguration of a new federation board, and every government budget is accompanied by renewed hope that this time, sports will finally receive the attention it deserves. Yet, year after year, the same conversations continue.

We complain about poor facilities.
We complain about inadequate funding.
We complain about corruption.
We complain about politics.
We complain about poor player welfare.
We complain about administrators.
And then we wait.
Unfortunately, waiting has become part of our sporting culture.
The truth is both uncomfortable and liberating:
No one is coming to build the sports ecosystem for us.
Not politicians.
Not government.
Not federation officials.
Not corporate sponsors.
Not international organizations.

If Nigerian sports is ever going to become sustainable, prosperous and globally respected, the people who live, breathe and depend on sports must become the architects of its future.

That responsibility belongs to us.
