01Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to visitors, registered members, players, coaches, academies, officials, fans, employers, partners and other people who interact with BAN Community through the app, website, forms, events, media services or other connected features. BAN Community is powered by All-In Sports & Entertainment Plc.

02Information we collect

  • Account information such as name, email address, phone number, country, password credentials and account type.
  • Verification information such as date of birth, role, organisation, playing or coaching information, identification or supporting evidence supplied for verification, and information provided by a voucher or authorised reviewer.
  • Profile and community information such as biography, photographs, basketball history, academy or school affiliation, posts, comments, groups, connections, jobs, courses and other content you choose to publish.
  • Transaction and membership information where you purchase a membership, course, product, certification or other service, including payment status and transaction references. Payment card details are handled by the relevant payment provider rather than stored by BAN unless expressly stated.
  • Technical information such as device/browser information, approximate location derived from technical data, IP address, logs, cookies or similar technologies, and information about how features are used.

03Why we use personal information

  • To create and operate accounts and provide the BAN Community services.
  • To verify identities, professional or basketball credentials and community membership, and to prevent fraud or misuse.
  • To publish member profiles and community content according to the visibility rules of the relevant feature and your choices.
  • To operate Rising Stars, BAN TV, podcasts, courses, jobs, groups, events, messaging, certification and other platform features.
  • To process payments, fulfil purchases, provide customer support and communicate important service information.
  • To improve security, reliability, moderation, accessibility and the functionality of the platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests and protect the rights and safety of members and the community.

04Lawful bases and consent

We process personal information using an appropriate lawful basis under applicable Nigerian data-protection law, which may include consent, performance of a contract, legal obligation, protection of vital interests, public interest or legitimate interests where applicable. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it subject to legal or contractual limitations. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.

05Public profiles and user content

Some BAN features are designed to make basketball information discoverable. Information you intentionally publish to a public profile, Rising Stars profile, post, media item, group or other public area may be visible to other users or the public. Do not publish another person's private information without an appropriate basis or permission. Verification staff may see information that is not displayed publicly when necessary to review an application.

06Children and young people

BAN includes youth basketball activity and may process information about players under 18. We apply additional safeguards to youth information. Where parental or guardian consent is required, BAN will seek or require it before processing the relevant information. Sensitive verification information about minors is not intended for public display.

07Sharing and service providers

We may share information with trusted service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, communicate, process payments, deliver media, provide analytics or operate other platform functions. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to address fraud, security, safeguarding or serious misuse. We do not sell personal information as a general business practice.

08Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and the risks involved. No online system can guarantee absolute security. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, legal requirements, dispute resolution, security, legitimate records or other lawful purposes.

09Your data-protection rights

Subject to applicable law and any lawful limitations, you may have rights to be informed, access personal information, request correction, object to certain processing, restrict processing, request portability, withdraw consent where applicable, and request deletion or other remedies. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where you believe your rights have been infringed.

10Cookies and similar technologies

BAN may use essential storage, cookies or similar technologies to keep the service secure, remember preferences and understand platform usage. Some technologies may be provided by service providers. You can control certain browser or device settings, although disabling essential technologies may affect functionality.
